Stephen Watkins

— Senior Pastor

Our pastor has been serving as a lead pastor since 2012 when he accepted his calling to Benton Heights Baptist Church. He was born and raised in Bishopville, SC . Pastor Stephen and his wife Maleah were married in 1998 and have three beautiful children: Braedon, Isaac, and Ella. He came to Mill Creek in 2019 along with the Benton Heights congregation and merged with Mill Creek where he became our Senior Pastor. He served bi-vocationally for many years where he also was in construction until going full time in the ministry in 2019. Pastor Stephen has a passion for cooperation in the local church and has helped bring many churches together for the sake of the gospel.

Taylor Helms

— Worship Pastor

Taylor began his call to ministry young in life, after feeling that call while in high school. He attended Liberty University to study Worship and was a spiritual leader on campus throughout his tenure there. Since graduating in 2013, Taylor and his wife Morgan served as the Worship Pastor at Mt. Harmony Baptist Church in Matthews, NC for 6 years. In 2019, he felt the call to be a part of what was happening for the Lord at Benton Heights Baptist Church in Monroe, NC with Pastor Stephen. Benton Heights merged with the Mill Creek Church Family and the rest is history. Taylor has a passion for bringing congregations together and helping to facilitate a worship-filled environment for everyone attending. He strives for excellence and absolutely loves his ability to serve the Lord while doing something he is truly passionate about. Taylor grew up right here in Union County, graduated from Piedmont High School and married his high school sweetheart. He and his wife, Morgan, have two daughters Rayme and Evelyn.
