Food of the
Month:
Through a desire to help
those in need, Mill Creek has a ministry called,
"Food of the Month." Each month the
missions committee in cooperation with Loaves
and Fishes of Monroe (as emergency food pantry)
specifies a food item, such as peanut butter,
canned fruit or juice for members to give.
At the end of the month, the items are taken to
Loaves and Fishes for distribution to the needy.

Disaster
Relief Services:
The Brotherhood of Mill Creek have been
and continue to be active in the NC Baptist
men's Disaster Relief program. Members have
served in post 9/11 New York, the hurricane
stricken Gulf Coast, and in North Carolina from
the mountains to the coast. The
Brotherhood maintains a trailer filled with
construction tools and other materials which
they use when called upon, or lend to other
groups answering the call for help.
Video/DVD Ministry:
Mill Creek provides a video/DVD
ministry for members that are in nursing
homes, unable to attend due to illness or other
circumstances, or are homebound. A team of
trained technicians record Sunday worship
services and special occasions. Copies are
made and delivered along with a weekly bulletin
to all that request the service.
This ministry enable even those that can't be
present to still be involved and connected to
their church family.

Children's Ministry
Mill Creek loves
children! By using Jesus' love and
concern for children as a role model,
Mill Creek provides many different
services and events for them such as
Sunday School classes for all ages,
Vacation Bible School, the Exceptional
Children's Camp, and much more.
Wednesday night services for our
children:
The Girls in Action (GA's) program
offers some fun and educational
opportunities for our kindergartners
through 5th graders. There is a new
mission theme each month with Bible
study and crafts gear to reinforce the
theme. Each month there will also be a
new mission project for the girls to
participate in. As the girls complete
steps in Bible study, crafts and mission
activities, they will receive
recognition on a progress board kept in
the room.
The Royal Ambassadors (RA's) will
follow a similar pattern and will be led
by Phil Tarte. Assistant leaders for the
boys are needed; see Phil to volunteer.
The following information is taken from
the RA website: “In 2011, the RA theme
is Ship Ahoy, with a different focus
each month. The virtues of Honesty
and Self-discipline will help RAs not
run aground in their own lives.”
Exceptional Children's Camp
The church's love for one of its own
children with special needs led to the
start of a summer day camp for
exceptional children. Mill Creek
furnishes a welcoming facility, access
to transportation, funding and other
support for this event, which is a
highlight of the summer for those
attending. Other exceptional
children's events hosted by Mill Creek
include:
»Christmas
Party
»Annual
Joint Birthday Party

Music
Ministry
The Music
has always been a large part of our worship at Mill
Creek. It has comforted us in times of loss
and pain and lifted us in times of jubilation and
rejoicing. God never asked us to sing or even
perfectly or even on the right notes, but we are
told to "make
a joyful noise."
We can sing to God with our hearts and souls and
voices.
At Mill Creek we are blessed with many talented
musicians, music leaders and voices.
Instruments include a baby grand piano. a
something organ, various string instruments
and more.
Praise, worship, adoration, honor, love, fellowship
- all results of lifting our voices and instruments
in praise to God.
Music Ministries Include:
»
Adult Choir - Sunday 5 pm in November
»
Instrumentalists
»
Spiritlifters Handbell Choir
»
Special Quartets
»
Children's Choirs - Wed. Nights
(2 yrs - 5th grade)
They will be broken down into three age appropriate
divisions and will take turns practicing the music.
The Christmas program is here and will
be worked on during this time also. We look forward
to spending time with your child and learning to
love worship through music.

Our Youth - "DRIVEN"
The student ministry at Mill Creek is very
important to the church family. So much so that the
church now employs a full time youth pastor
who leads those in the sixth through twelfth
grades in growing in the walk with Christ.
The ministry is called "Driven",
a name chosen by the youth to show their
desire to please Christ in
their lives.
The youth have a very large, contemporary
area al their own where they learn, worship,
sing, have special guest speakers and
performers and plan special events.
Mill Creek youth enjoy ski trips, summer
camps, day outings such as bowling and much
more. But they are also mission minded
and serve other where they can. They
are glad to welcome all visitors to the
group!
